Projects, Ideas, and Efforts.

Moving Forward, I find myself struggling a little - Im a character painter not a big army painter - I find my interest waning when confronted with masses of troops (to me, anything more than 10 is masses LoL).

I WANT to get the done, nothing p***es me off more than using unpainted terrain and Miniatures during a game - but I also get bored when painting en-mass, and that just sucks the joy (and desire to get things finished out of me).

Whilst playing the game was still fun, the first time I played was like in the example picture above - and it just "lacks" that edge that makes me go "woo-hoo"!

One of the reasons I've yet to buy a playmat, is worry over laziness (and the fact I pre-ordered and didn't get one LoL) - if I buy the mat, I might not bother building any more Terrain - I've got some "undamaged" Buildings done already for other games - so why bother right?

The Mat might make me start thinking "that will do" - rather than thinking "Oh, I know what I can use for that" (to be frank MDF Buildings ALSO made me lazy - but thats another story).

So, I feel guilty - return to the blocking in - but its not long before the "boredom fairy" pokes me in the eyes again and I want to do something, almost ANYTHING else.

When I feel the boredom strike I do one of two things, I paint a character model - focusing all my attention on THAT or I build something (I ADORE building and converting Miniatures).

That's how I started my Pop's Miniature "out of sequence" (for example) - I just need to build up the confidence (not to mention wait for my hands to get a little better) before I finish the eyes.

I love my hobby, but when you are tired, busy, and your hands are stiff and achy (or whatever might ail you personally) - the Boredom Fairy becomes a familiar (if unwelcome) friend.

And its HARD to plough through (anyone who insists other wise has never been through this or simply has no idea how frustrating this can be).

Which led to me doing some conversions for the 1984 Terminator Scenarios (this was before I heard the 1984 set was incoming).

I've actually done Pops with an Assault Rifle now too, when the Guardian on the Motorbike turns up I'll have plenty of options there (I'm thinking of writing a Scenario based upon the short "T2 3-D: Battle Across Time" Movie.

So Much to do - So Little Time (and Motivation sometimes LoL) - which is even worse when you realize I'm spending time Blogging (like a LOT of people) rather than ACTUALLY doing my Hobby!
